Cecil Langham gets commissioned in the Stephen Ministry
The Journey of Cecil Langham:
I became a born again Christian Believer 55 years ago when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and confessed my sins to Him and asked for and received His forgiveness.
During the years since then, I have tried to keep my faith and along the way from time to time I grew weak in my faith but never did I doubt the love of Jesus Christ and our Father God. He has blessed me with a great life, family, friends, and a very good living all these years. I am now retired and prayed to the Lord to help me know what I could do to give back for all those years of blessings. He answered my prayers and I heard and understood His answer.
He called me to be a Stephen Minister at the church we attend, First United Methodist Church of Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas. I was required to take 50 hours of training and have now completed that and will be commissioned before the church on Sunday, April 29, 2012. I look forward to being able to give my Christian care giving talents to the care receivers I will be assigned. I will help them and guide them through whatever is troubling them, through Jesus Christ my guide. He is the vine; I am a branch of the vine to help Him be a cure giver.
